Grammar 
~면 좋겠다. 
It means 'I wish (if) ~'. In english, we usually put a past tense after 'I wish (if) ~' but in Korean, it doesn't matter. Past tense and Present tense are okay in ~면 좋겠다. (But future tense is not allowed)

e.g) 

1.난 아빠가 담배 안폈으면 좋겠어 = 난 아빠가 담배 안피면 좋겠어

2.내일 수업 안했으면 좋겠다 = 내일 수업 안하면 좋겠다

3.내 청혼을 받아 주었으면 좋겠어 = 내 청혼을 받아 주면 좋겠어

But here is a problem. In ~면 좋겠다, Present tense is so blunt and forthright so you shouldn't use Present tense when you talk to a stranger or people who are older than you because it could be a bit rude.

 

되게 많이 좀 미안했어요. 아무래도 너무 바쁘신데 저는 선뜻 오빠가 나와주셨으면 좋겠어요 라고 말을 하기가 어렵더라고요. 근데도 아무렇지도 않게 저희 이제 회사 윗분들이랑 상의를 하셔서 딱 스케줄[Schedule]이, 그때가 되게 바쁘게 LA에서 계시다가 한국에 오셔서 광고촬영 하러 들어오셨는데 그 타이밍에 어! 나도 세트장이 이 근처에 있다. 가겠다. 흔쾌히 날짜를 조율을 해서 승낙을 해주시더라고요. 뮤직비디오[Music video]를 보신 분들은 아실 텐데. 아이스크림[Ice cream]을, 제 아이스크림을 통해서 아이스크림을 몰래 막 드시고 계시다가 제가 이거 막 내꺼라고 그게 근데 다 애드립[Ad-lib]이었거든요. 그런 게 조금 수줍기는 했는데. 재미있게 정말 리얼[Real]하게 맛있게 드셔 주셔가지고 제가 편하게 화를 낼 수 있었어요.
